Dozens of armored vehicles, tanks, and hundreds of soldiers were sent to combat rising violence of Al-Qaeda in Shabwa province.
Military reinforcements were deployed to pursue at least 45 members of Al-Qaeda militants in Nesab, Al-Saeed, and Al-Hoteh districts.
This step came two days after an attack was carried out by suspected Al-Qaeda militants in Azan district, in which the deputy of Criminal Investigative Department, Atek Al-Ameri was killed, and his friend Asem Balabed, was wounded.
Lately, suspected Al-Qaeda militants carried out several operations targeting military commanders, police officers and local officials as well as military and security convoys and patrols in the south provinces.
