The Interior Ministry said on Saturday that the Houthi Group had abused the Qatari commission in charge of supervising the ceasefire that the government signed with the group last year, preventing it from doing its job well.
In a statement on its website the Ministry said Houthis aimed guns at the commission members and prevented them from reaching a district in Jawf province which the commission was planned to visit according to its programme.
"Houthi members stationed at a security in the district of Barat Al-Anan in Barat town and aimed guns at its members, forcing the commission to change its destination to a district in Saada," the statement said.
The statement comes as the government and the Houthi Group are trading accusations over breaching the ceasefire, with each accusing the other of neglecting its part in the peace deal.
Each side, however, says it is committed to the ceasefire terms and argues only the other is responsible for what seems to be a lasting impediment to peace in the far north.
