The World Food Program (WFP) announced that it will give food aid to Somali refugees in 21 provinces in Yemen.
The Food Office Director at United Nations Higher Commissioner of Refugees (UNHCR) in Aden, Abdul Qadir Noreen, said that the aid is worth at least $53 million, as the WFP will offer 66,300 tons of foodstuffs.
Noreen confirmed that the food aid will include the Somali refugees in three districts of Lahj province where most of Somali refugees live.
In his meeting with Lahj governor, Noreen affirmed that the aid comes in support with the poorest classes, besides 230 tons to be distributed monthly to 30,000 refugees in Lahj, Aden, Abyan and Shabwa provinces. He added that the UNHCR presents medical aid for 1,760 students of the refugees' sons.
