A total of 37 kg hashish, worth over YR.40 million, was seized from a car carrying commodities to the wholesale fruit market in Sana'a, media outlet reported on Saturday.
Four people were arrested after the seizure made late Saturday following a tip-off that the narcotics consignment was on its way to the market, it said.
General Director of Drugs Combating Department at the Ministry of Interior Khalid Mutaher was cited as saying the Republican Guards thwarted in a week three attempts to smuggle hashish, in addition to arresting four smugglers.
Earlier this month, security authorities captured in Sa'ada governorate around 250kg of hashish and another quantity of drugs.
