The Joint Meeting Parties JMP, the opposition, announced they would discuss over the next two days freezing the dialogue with the General People's Congress, the ruling party, Yemen Post reported on Monday.
Quoting sources familiar with the issue, the website said there are opposition leaders seeking a declaration over their conviction that the dialogue with the ruling party will lead to a deadlock.
Tensions have recently arisen between the two sides that could prevent holding the meeting of the 200-member dialogue panel, formed with equal representation from the parties this year, in early November as scheduled, the website said.
The announcement coincided with the withdrawal of two members from the national dialogue committee.
In July, the parties signed the minutes of the February 2009 Agreement on delaying the parliamentary elections to 2011 that included terms for holding comprehensive national dialogue.
The elections were due to take place in April 2009 but Parliament delayed it by two years to carry out electoral and constitutional reforms.
