Deputy Director of investigations, Ali Abdullah Wahan, was killed in a gang attack on him in the district of Kushr in Hajah province in the early hours the day Monday, a senior Police officer now retired told the Yemen Post.
He said that about three or four people fired at the police killing Wahan, no one else injured and the suspects fled on foot.
Police said Wahan, 42, came under attack near the police compound on his way to his office in the district of Kushr of Hajah governorate.
The armed group of Al-Derini, numbering about 20 people, attacked the police complex in the district trying to release their relatives from the district prison, the same source said.
Within minutes, security forces, including the Hajah Police began to arrive on the area, looking for the suspects, he said.
