The Qatari commission in charge with overseeing the implementation of the ceasefire between the government and the Houthi Group started its task in Saada Province and the district of Harf Sufyan in neighboring Amran Province.
After a meeting with the representatives of both sides, it formed 8 panels to supervise the implementation of the rest terms of the 22-term ceasefire signed in February 2010 after the sixth war between the two sides.
Moreover, it held a closed meeting with Saada governor that resulted in the formation of a panel from the Ministries of Civil Service and Insurance, Education and Finance to give the salaries of those who had been suspended in connection with the last war against the Houthi rebellion in the far north.
The meeting also raised the topic of rebuilding war-ravaged areas in Saada, with the Qataris demanding to select a neutral organization to carry out and supervise the reconstruction process. They agreed to assign the Red Crescent Society for the mission.
In the meantime, tribes in Saada gathered and met with the local authorities to announce their allegiance to the government and their support for establishing peace and the reconstruction efforts.
