Armed people attacked on Thursday night the security post guarding the Marib Gas-Fired Power Station, but there were no reports of casualties, the News Yemen said on Friday.
They used various weapons, burning a store that contained generators.
The fire was brought under control, and a hunt was launched for the suspects, believed to be from the Al Jalal tribe in the Wadi disrrict.
On Wednesday, armed tribesmen attacked two military camps in Marib, and sources said the two-hour clashes were the fiercest ever in the province where the authorities are waging a relentless war on Al-Qaeda suspects and outlaws.
Apart from the topic, preliminary investigations have revealed that the motives for the murder of a French expert by a guard of an Austrian company office in Sana'a were just criminal and personal, the Interior Ministry reported on Friday.
