Armed people kidnapped on Monday three soldiers in the district of Harf Sufyan in Yemen's Northern Amran Province. The troops, from the Alamaliqah Brigade forces stationing in the district, were kidnapped at the Dalat Al-Shaqra'a area and their fate is still unknown.
In the south, armed people attacked a security checkpoint in Zunjbar, the capital of Abayn Province. Masked gunmen on motorcycles attacked the checkpoint at the city's gate but no casualties were reported, according to independent sources.
The attack comes amid a series of attacks on security offices, patrols and checkpoints in southern and southeastern areas killing and injuring many in the last months.
Also, fierce clashes took place between the security forces and suspected Al-Qaeda militants in the province last week as the hunt for terrorist suspects is continuing throughout the country.
In recent months, many assassination attempts of intelligence and public security officers were carried out in the region, with the authorities blaming the violence on Al-Qaeda and sometimes on the separatist movement.
