Intelligence Director in Dhale Province Abdul Khaliq Shae'a was injured on Thursday after his car hit a landmine that was planted on the highway.

The incident took place when the director passed near the Communication Office.

The explosion destroyed one of his car's tires, and Shae'a was injured and taken to hospital. Those who planted the landmine were unknown.

Many intelligence and public security officers were killed and injured in the last few months in southern and southeastern regions, amid attacks and assassinations blamed on Al-Qaeda and the separatist movement.
