Armed people attacked on Wednesday night military posts and security checkpoints in downtown Marib Province but no casualties were reported, the Alsahwa website reported.
Local sources were quoted as saying fierce confrontations erupted at 11:00 pm between military posts and unidentified armed gangs and lasted for an hour.
The gangs launched attacks against a checkpoint at the southern entry of Marib and the Al-Rumailah camp that was set up two months ago near the electricity station, about 9 km east of the province, the sources made clear.
Flames were seen at one of the homes next the camp, but there were no reports of casualties, they said.
In the last two months, clashes erupted at the two sites between the security forces and armed people but those behind attacks have not been identified yet.
