Five people were injured including three security in clashes that erupted between the security forces and people who flocked to greet three detainees released under President Saleh's orders on Monday in Dhale Province.
The confrontations occurred when one of the fans of the southern secessionist movement started shooting at a security patrol at a checkpoint in downtown Dhale.
Eyewitnesses were quoted by the Alsahwa website as saying that armed people fired on soldiers from inside a bus injuring three and the security at the checkpoint returned fire and clashed with them.
But a leader in the movement denied that people targeted a security patrol and soldiers, saying the security forces confessed to opening fire at the rallied people to disperse them.
Hundreds of the fans of the movement gathered today to receive the three people released from the Political Security Prison in Sana' a after they were arrested in connection with violence in the south.
