An army officer has been killed and three soldiers and unidentified number of tribesmen injured in the clashes that are still continuing between the army and tribes in Al-Ashah district in Amran Province.
A military patrol was also burned in the clashes triggered by a tribal strip set up to demand financial rights of tribal volunteers who supported the army against the Houthi Group in the far north, local sources were quoted by the News Yemen as saying.
Tribesmen started firing at a military vehicle of one of the military camps in the region killing the officer and injuring four soldiers.
Then forces were dispatched to the incident site and battled the outlaws.
Separately, three people were killed, a fourth injured and two others survived in a huge explosion that shook Rida district in the province.
A security source said the explosion was caused by home-made explosives that were with the victims.
The explosion took place at the home of a wanted suspect used as a factory to produce mines and explosives, the source said.
An investigation is underway.
