A man in his 70s has died and a 13-year-old teenager injured when a landmine exploded in riot-shaken Dhale province in south Yemen.
Police said that the explosion in the district of Juban took place when the man treaded on the landmine killing him immediately and injuring his son.
The landmine was expected to be planted a long time ago, maybe before the unity, according to the Interior Ministry's Information Center.
In Saada province where the ceasefire committees are continuing to reopen roads, eliminate landmines and pave the way for the return of refugees, two children have been taken to hospital in critical condition after a landmine exploded at them.
The accident occurred inside a farm in Sahar district while the two were walking and then one of them stepped on the landmine.
Several accidents have taken place since the ceasefire started last month killing a number of people and injuring others including ceasefire committee members.
Meanwhile, the authorities continue to organize campaigns to raise awareness about landmines and how to deal with them across the republic, mainly in Saada and southern cities.
