Security forces besieged for hours today the house of separatist leader Tariq Al-Fadhli after an armoured car was attacked by gunmen who were at the house.
Clashes erupted between security forces and Al-Fadhli's guards after shooting the armoured car in the southern province of Abyan forcing the siege. No injuries were reported.
Security forces retreated but the reason for this was unknown.
On Monday, 6 people including 2 policemen were killed and others were injured when police raided a house where wanted suspects including an Al-Qaeda suspect were hiding in Zunjbar city.
Al-Qaeda suspect who authorities said also was an arms dealer that supplied weapons to the separatists was among the dead.
Other 5 wanted suspects were arrested amid continuous crackdown on Al-Qaeda across the republic.
Al-Fadhli was a former Jihidi leader and he joined the secessionist movement in the south early last year.
