The Houthi rebels are continuing to breach the ceasefire, postponing reopening roads and eliminating landmines, a source at the Supreme Security Committee said on Monday.
We regret that the rebels have not yet demonstrated full commitment to the ceasefire including the mechanism and timetable to implement its terms, the source said.
All that the rebels have done was reopening some roads and eliminating landmines partly in some areas and they refused to hand the landmines to the committees supervising the implementation of the ceasefire.
Also, they are postponing the implementation of the ceasefire as whole including the handover of the remaining Saudi soldiers and Yemeni military and citizen captives as well as Yemeni and Saudi equipment, the source said.
What the Houthi militants are doing make remind us of their postponement, games and irresponsible acts during previous ceasefires, the sources said, adding that such moves by them may lead to dangerous consequences as it has.
On February, President Ali Abdullah Saleh decided to stop the military operations against the rebels in Saada after they accepted the ceasefire conditions.
The rebels have fought the army since 2004, seeking to reinstall imamate rule. They also received support from Iranian religious bodies.
