Yemen said on Sunday that the army had killed 20 Houthi militants including a key trainer, named as Qaid Abu Malik, in Saada. The army clashed with the rebels in the district of Almalaheedh and killed 20, security sources said; a day after Abdul Malik Al Houthi, the rebel leader, announced their acceptance to the truce conditions announced by the government months ago.
On Saturday, Al Houthi said in an audio tape that they took the conditions, days after the leader announced a truce initiative with Saudi Arabia, that was involved in the conflict after the Houthi rebels took Saudi regions on the Yemeni-Saudi border. Shortly after Al Houthi's announcement, the Supreme Security Council said in a meeting Saturday night, said military operations against the rebels would be suspended if Al Houthis stuck to the announcement and started implementing the truce conditions immediately. The council, however, said that meeting the truce terms should be without conditions by the rebels. Moreover, Secretary General of the Saada Local Government said the announcement of accepting the truce conditions was a new game of Al Houthi. He announced that just to resurgence and have time to attack the army further, Muhammad Al Emad said. ' Al Houthi has deceived the government three times, saying they took the conditions but in fact, in every time they prepared and launched new attacks on the army forces,' Al Emad added. On the other hand, the rebels have urged the Saudi people to advise their government to stop attacking them and accept Al Houthi initiative. We urge the Saudi people to call on their leadership to stop interfering in Yemen's internal affairs, rebel prominent leader Saleh Habra said. We also urge the Yemeni people, various social and political groups, to have a clear and united position on what Saudi authorities are doing in Saada and towards Yemeni authorities which allowed this to happen, he said. He also called on the Yemeni people to be careful about the U.S. conspiracies against the Al Houthis and all Yemenis including going deeply inside the country.
