Three Yemeni soldiers were killed in a fire shooting attack targeted them in Shabwa province eastern Yemen.
Ahmed Ba Hameed, a social activist in Shabwa said in a statement to reporters that Atack Central Hospital received the bodies of three soldiers and another injured after being shot by unknown attackers.
He pointed out that the soldiers were at a military checkpoint in Nisab Atack highway of Shabwa province, when unidentified armed people attacked them. Until now, no part has announced responsibility on the incident.
Currently, Yemeni army is carrying out widespread counter-terrorism operations against Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) in several Yemeni governorates.
Ba Hameed said ''the armed men may have links to Al-Qaeda operatives in Yemen, which Yemeni security forces launch fierce military operations against (AQAP) members.
In the same regard, the Yemeni Ministry of Interior proclaimed that the counter-terrorism operations conducted by the Yemeni government, resulted in the killing of 30 Al-Qaeda members, and many others were arrested lately, reported the Ministry Media Center.
