The national dialog in Yemen has been delayed until the end of this month; for the second time after President Saleh called for it in early last month.
First, it was scheduled for December 26 and then delayed until January 4, and now the committee urges it should take place on January 30.
In every time, seeking further participation by various political forces and civil society organizations was the only reason for the delay, according to the preparatory committee for the dialog.
The committee said in its meeting Wednesday that was chaired by head of the Shoura Council, the body to oversee the event, there should be more time to arrange for the dialog and ensure further participation by various political forces and civil society organizations.
The meeting reviewed reports on the arrangements for the dialog including those containing proposals by subcommittees.
In December, President Saleh called a national dialog to address crucial issues in the country, urging the opposition, other political forces, civil society organizations and scholars to take part in it.
The appeal came as the situation deepens in the country amid the separation bids in the south and the war against the Houthi insurgents in the far north.
It also came at a time when Yemen is struggling to boost national economy through streamlining legislations and making improvements at various sectors, with a focus on non-oil sectors.
The call was domestically and international hailed, though the opposition said it was one of the ruling party's games, urging the country's interest be placed above other interests.
