A Yemeni security source revealed on Tuesday that the campaigns against Al-Qaeda affiliates are ongoing in the Capital Sana'a, Shabwa, Marib governorates; in addition to Abyan Southern Yemen. It added that the army arrested five suspected of links to Al-Qaeda, in a statement to reporters.
As U.S., UK, France Embassies were shutdown lately due to Al-Qaeda threats, they resume function; after a day of targeting a security operation Northern Sana'a by the Yemeni army, against Al-Qaeda elements.
A statement posted by the website of the U.S. embassy in Sana'a stated that the counter-terrorist operation complemented by Yemeni forces on the fourth of January Northern Sana'a, attributed in re-opening the embassy.
The statement pointed out that the high concerns of implementing a terrorist attacks against U.S. interests in Yemen remain high. However, the embassy urges its citizens to remain vigilant.
Officials in the British and French embassies said that there embassies have re-opened their doors, but both embassies consulates departments are still closed, according to media sources.
