A soldier on Monday died from his injuries that he had when armed people opened fire at troops, the people and stores in Yemen's southern province of Lahj, independent sources told the Yemen Post.
Ali Jaeel, from Abyan province in the south, was shot in his head in Al-Hota district and taken to the Republican Hospital where he passed away early Monday.
According to the sources 7 people were injured when unidentified armed people randomly opened fire in the district, including 5 troops and two civilians.
The district saw violence on Sunday with separatists attacking the people and looting vendor properties and burned tires on the streets, in rioting that was aimed at forcing the people to react to a civil disobedience called by Tariq Al-Fadhli, a leader in the southern movement, once a jihiadist leader.
Separatists of the fans of the movement threatened shopkeepers they would burn their stores if they did not respond to Al-Fadhli's call. Amid the reluctance of the people who were angry due to insecurity, they fired at the people and their stores.
In the last few days, some southern areas witnessed rioting in a form of civil disobedience called by Al-Fadhli.
The rioting was part of massive rioting that hit most of the south this year with violent protestors who demanded better rights and salutations to standing issues in the south clashing with police and sometimes committing illegal crimes against the people.
Protests were staged by the southern movement.
