Tribesmen in Mareb province, 130 km northeast Sana'a, have blocked the Sana'a-Mareb road and seized several oil and gas trucks.
Hundreds of oil and gas trucks were also intercepted at checkpoints along the highway.
400 tribesmen from the Jahm tribe have vowed to continue the violation until they regain their land that was taken by the Interior Ministry in Sana'a, their elder Mohammed Ali Salim Tuaiman told the News Yemen.
Tuaiman said he earlier got a Saleh order asking the ministry to compensate him, he said, adding that the order was followed by another order asking the ministry to return the land plot.
Before the escalation, the tribe people met and discussed their issue and finally decided to pursue justice through pressuring the authorities which, according to Tuaiman, turned down President Saleh's orders.
Last week, hundreds of the people staged a sit-in at the Al-Sabeen Square in Sana'a, carrying placards demanding the Interior Ministry to implement Saleh directives.
The authorities have moved to reopen the road, the website reported.
