A huge explosion was heard early Tuesday near a military brigade in southern province of Abyan.
The explosion took place in the down, about 4:30 am.
No casualties and damages were reported, the News Yemen said, adding details about the explosion remained unclear.
On the other hand, hundreds of the fans of the anti-government southern movement poured onto the streets in the provinces of Abyan, Lahj and Dhale, on demonstrations that were called by the movement.
The development coincides with the visit of Secretary General of the Arab League Amr Moussa aimed at tackling the worsening situation in Yemen either in the north and south.
Spokesman for the movement Abdul Matari said the protests are aimed to deliver a message to the Arab League explaining the conditions of the southerners to help them regain their rights.
In Abyan, the protestors settled at the house of Tariq Al-Fadhli, a former Jihadist and who joined the movement this year.
In response, security forces were dispatched to outside Abayn while the protesters toured the streets carrying their personal guns.
No clashes between the people and the troops have been reported so far.
More than a week ago, Dhale province saw violent protests in which some were killed and more than a dozen hurt.
