Two people were arrested in Lahj governorate last night in connection with the killing of three innocent citizens and injuring another last Friday in Habeel Jabr Lahj province Attack.
Security sources said that authorities arrested two suspects, named Amjed Ali Saif and Mohammed Saif Mohammed, son and brother of the main suspect Ali Saif Mohammed.
Sources confirmed that forces are currently pursuing the main criminal to bring him to justice.
On the other hand, three people were killed and another injured late last week in an armed attack in Habeel Jabr of Lahj province. However, the authorities attributed the incident to the protesters who are belonging to the southern mobility.
The gunmen intercepted a pick-up truck carrying a candy seller and four of his relatives, sprayed the pick-up truck with bullets, killing three and wounding one other.
Ministry of Defense's website cited deputy governor of Lahj province, Yasser Al Yamani, as saying that the attackers were elements in the southern mobility movement, which leads the violent protests in the cities of the south.
The incident comes at a time when tension hangs over the cities of the southern province.
After receiving threats from Al-Abdili, one of the southern mobility leaders, and former consultant at Defense Ministry, seven shops belonging to citizens from the northern provinces were closed Monday evening.
Tensions have risen in recent months in the southern provinces and demonstrators have been gathering almost daily in Al-Dhale' province since the beginning of this year. 19 people have been killed in demonstrations so far.
