Polio Vaccination Campaign Starts
Earlier this week, Primary Health Care Sector at the Ministry of Public Health and Population completed the necessary preparations to kick off the National Preventive Refreshing Vaccination Campaign against Polio. The three-day campaign in the capital and all governorates launched on Sunday and will continue until tomorrow. About 38,487 health workers and volunteers participated in the campaign, which targets 4,181,729 children under age five in over 2.5 million houses throughout the country.
36 Killed and Hundreds Injured in 256 Traffic Accidents Last Week
According to a report from Traffic General Administration, 36 people were killed and another 285 injured in 256 traffic accidents last week throughout the country. Among the injured, 175 are still in serious condition.
3 Somalis Accused of Stealing YR 6 Million in Gold
The Interior Ministry’s Information Center announced that security authorities accused three Somalis of stealing a briefcase which had inside 6 million Yemeni rials’ worth of jewelry. The incident took place in the city of Al-Ghaidah, Maharah governorate, and the briefcase was in a car parked at one of the city streets when the Somalis tried to take it.
