China came on the top of the list of the foreign countries exporting products from Yemen last year and Thailand came second, the state-run Althawra newspaper reported on Saturday.
China exported Yemeni products for YR 478.424 billion, about $2 billion, last year, and that accounted for about 33.3% of Yemen's total exports.
According to statements by Yemeni and Chinese officials earlier this year, the bilateral trade between Yemen and China increased to more than $4 billion last year.
Thailand followed China exporting Yemeni products for YR 271.47 billion, about $1 billion, ant that accounted for around 18.87% of the country's total exports.
China is considered a key exporter of Yemen's oil, gas and other products such fisheries and raw materials such as plastic.
Yemen imports from China increased in recent years with official statistics estimating that about 70% of the daily products in Yemen are imported from such as electronics.
Yemen largely depends on oil products which bring in more than 70% of the state budget. The oil products make up about 90% of Yemen's exports.
