The technical committee in charge with preparation for a comprehensive dialogue in Yemen has urged all political factions to reconsider their media tones and demonstrate better media policies to pave the way for a productive dialogue.
"The current media trends still do not serve the requirements of the extraordinary circumstances and its complications in Yemen," the committee said in a statement.
"All factions and groups should bear sense of responsibility and pay special attention to the consequences of their media tones," it urged, adding that Yemen needs to have a positive media role that puts the country's interest above everything else, especially to serve its stability.
At a meeting in Sanaa, the committee discussed what political factions publish and called on all to avoid calls to sectarianism and hatred with the aim to contribute to bringing all the Yemeni people to the table to take their country out of the current situation.
Yemen is preparing for a comprehensive national dialogue under the power-transfer deal which was brokered by the Gulf countries and backed by the West following the 2011 unrest.
The dialogue is planned to be held in early November after it has been delayed twice this year.
