YECO Buys Wheat from Farmers in Mareb
Yemen Economic Corporation, YECO, said it had bought one hundred thousand bags of wheat at seven thousand Rials per sack from farmers in Marib Governorate. Abdulghani Al-Maqaleh, the branch manager, said that YECO will continue buying wheat from farmers in Mareb until the end of the month.
1.3 Million People in Yemen Suffer Blindness and Poor Vision
The director of the national program to combat blindness, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Khatib declared that there are about 400 thousand new cases of blindness and 900 thousand new cases are suffering from reduced vision in Yemen. Al-Khatib added that the main causes of blindness in Yemen are cataract, corneal clouding, trachoma, blue waters, fractured eye, and morbidity due to diabetes.
Two Women Killed by Floods in Amran
In Amran Governorate, People have found bodies of two women who were killed by floods caused by heavy rains. Eyewitnesses said that the two women were returning home when they tried to cross the valley but couldn’t because of the strong floods.
