Yemen has recently arrested over 40 human trafficking suspects as it struggles to prevent the infiltration from the African Horn.
Days ago, the Interior Ministry ordered security authorities in coastal cities to close all waterways to prevent terrorists from entering the country, in a move that came after it previously ordered to put African refugees under surveillance.
The ministry's information center reported on Thursday that security forces are now hunting other suspects over brining Africans into Yemen threatening the national security. In Taiz, a 50-year-old suspected trafficker has been arrested while driving a car.
Yemen is tightening security along its 2400-km long coastline after Somalia's Al-Shabaab Movement announced after last year's terror operations that it would send fighters to support Al-Qaeda in the country.
African illegal migrants and refugees arrive at Yemen coasts almost daily, with the authorities saying that the number of those who have already landed in Yemen exceeds 700000 people, mostly from Somalia and Ethiopia.
Last year, the authorities said that more than 50000 Africans arrived in Yemen.
