Head of the Houthi Group's Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, criticized the statement of the US Secretary of State John Kerry confirming the US support to the Saudi-led military operation in Yemen.
According to GCC media, Kerry affirmed after a meeting with Saudi foreign minister that the US-Saudi relations are strong and the US will continue to provide necessary support to Saudi Arabia to face dangers posed by the militant groups including the Houthi militia in Yemen.
"Kerry's statement was not good and only exposed US aggressive tone against Yemen," Al-Houthi said n a statement published by the Saba news agency.
"The US continued support to the Saudi-led operation reveals the aggression on Yemen came under a US decision," he continued, pointing out that Kerry's statement made after 300 days of bombing Yemen come within attempts to undermine UN efforts for a peaceful solution in the country.
When the Saudi-led coalition launched the bombing campaign in Yemen in late March, the US and other countries including the US, France and Turkey said they were backing the operation through providing logistical and intelligence cooperation to the coalition.
The military intervention aims to restore the legitimacy of the Yemeni government which was ousted by the Houthi militants in late 2014. The Houthi takeover earlier triggered a civil war between the militants and the pro-government forces and popular resistance.
The UN has facilitated peace talks between the parties to the conflict twice but the efforts failed to produce a deal to end the armed conflict.
