Pro-government forces took over the special forces camp and key positions from the Houthi militants after fierce battles in Yemen's southern city of Taiz on Saturday.
Local sources said the battles are still continuing in some parts of Taiz including the Houdh Alashraf and that the Houthi militants are pounding residences hysterically all day.
The progress was made by the popular resistance after intensified Saudi-led airstrikes against Houthi camps in the city, they added.
Airstrikes by the Arab coalition also targeted Houthi camps and weapons depots in other cities including the capital Sanaa.
Today, well-informed sources said the pro-government fighters advanced on all war fronts in Aden, Marib, Shabwa and other conflict areas.
In recent days, the Houthis received devastated blows and are now losing their grip on cities and key camps.
The developments coincided with reports about talks between the Houthis and US and Omani officials in Muscat.
The reports revealed that the talks are being devoted to addressing the current crisis in Yemen and paving the way for Geneva talks by Yemeni factions.
Separately, people and activists said they can't log in Facebook and they doubt it has been blocked by the Houthis who have lately threatened to block social media platforms.
The militants have not commented on the issue yet.
