The alliance of the main Yemeni opposition parties, the Joint Meeting Parties, has formed a commission to talk with the Houthi group based in Saada governorate.
Disagreements have surfaced between JMP and the group as a result of the JMP's acceptance of the GCC-brokered power transfer deal singed in late November.
"The commission is tasked to negotiate with the Houth group on political partnership, the current situation of Yemen , the general political work and how to avoid all things that harm revolutionary forces" a opposition online news website, Alwahdawi said.
According to the website, the agreement draft stressed the importance of keeping away from any differences that could affect protest and sit-in squares existed in more than 18 Yemeni governorates.
These squares had witnessed divisions between those who support the GCC-brokered deal and those who oppose its inclusion of provisions that grant immunity for the outgoing president Ali Abdullah and his aides.
Alwahdawi quoted opposition officials as saying that a representative of the Houthi group welcomed this step and emphasized that the Houthi group has a willingness to jointly work with JMP.
The Houthi movement has recently supported the creation of a new political Zaidi Shia party, Al-Omah, which was announced early January.
Since pro-democracy protests erupted in Yemen in late January 2011, Houthi group has been trying to expand their control over the northern provinces of Saada, Amran and Hajja.
Clashes have been continuing between the group and Sunni Salafists in northern Yemen, leaving dozens of fighters killed and wounded form both sides.
Houthis had engaged in seven rounds of fighting with Saleh's government over the past six years in northern restive province of Saada.
