Yemen Receives Biometric Data Collection Systems from U.S. Deputy Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation James W. McJunkin handed the Yemeni Government thirty state-of-the art biometric collection systems. The systems total value is more than $503,000 and will assist in the collection and comparison of biometric data. Anti-Tetanus campaign starts in 17 Governorates Earlier this week, Yemen’s Health Ministry and Population started a five-day vaccination campaign to eliminate neonatal tetanus and eradicate measles in 17 Governorates of Yemen. The tetanus vaccination campaign targets more than two million women aged between 15 and 45 years while more than 667,000 children aged between 1 and 5 years will receive anti-measles vaccinations. UN official visits Yemen Today, John Powell, UN Assistant Secretary General, World Food Program (WFP) Deputy Executive Manager starts an official five-day visit to Yemen. During the visit, the UN official will meet senior officials in the government and will sign an understanding memorandum between the Yemen and WFP. Powell would pay a visit to refugees’ camps as well. |
