More than 50,000 Migrants Crossed from Africa to Yemen in 2008 According to the UN refugee agency, more than 50,000 Somali migrants crossed Aden Gulf to Yemen in 2008, an increase of 70 percent over the previous year. More than 590 people drowned and another 359 were reported missing during the crossing of Gulf of Aden. Al-Noor City to be Built in Yemen Development and construction group Al-Noor Holding Investment has announced plans to build two cities in Yemen and Djibouti. Al-Noor Cities will be located on opposite sides of the Red Sea and will be linked by a bridge across the Bab Al-Mandeb Strait and rail network. The project will create four million jobs and take up to 20 years to complete. Preparations of Aden Hospitals for Gulf 20 to Cost YR 15 billon Yemen allocated about YR 15 billion as a budget for Aden governorates’ hospitals ready for Gulf Football Cup 20. Sources told Yemen Post that the amount is for preparing the emergency departments and enhancing the health services in Aden hospitals. |
