More than 15 Officials and Ministers Resign for the next Parliamentary Election

Official sources admitted to Yemen Post that more than 15 officials, among them three ministers, in the government have resigned in preparation for nomination to run for parliamentary seats in the upcoming elections due to be held on  27 April, 2009.

Aden Customs Revenue Reached 15 billion

Aden governorate customs revenues for the period (January- November) from the current year reached more than 15 billion rials. Comparing to the same period last year, the customs revenue was about 203 million rials. According to officials; the increase was due to the increase of exports and maritime activities reactivated in the Containers Port.

More than 1400 Illiterates Liberated in Aden Governorate

About 1494 illiterates in Aden Governorate have learned to read and write during this year. In addition, about 2276 new illiterates had enrolled in the educational year of 2009. Currently, the governorate is working to improve its educational plans in 55 centers of literacy and adult education beside numerous women training centers which helps more than 190 women to teach in these centers.
