Emirates Businessman Donates three Month Food for Somali Refugees in Yemen

An anonymous businessman has donated a three-month food ration for Somali refugees in the Yemeni camp of Kharz. According to sources, the donations comes after the information he received about difficulties faced by the United Nations’ World Food Program in delivering food to the refugee camp. The food items included rice, sugar, flour, oil and beans.

DP World Takes Over Handling Aden Port Operations

Global marine terminal operator DP World has formally taken over container handling operations at the port of Aden. DP World will operate and further develop container handling facilities in the port of Aden in a partnership with the Yemen Gulf of Aden Port Corporation, which also includes prominent Saudi Arabian company House of Invention. The agreement contains a commitment to invest around $220 million in further developing the port which includes building a new 400 meter berth extension to Aden Container Terminal within five years

YR5 Billion: The Early Loss Estimation in Hadramout

The first report made by the Field Counting Committee showed that YR5 billion is the estimations of agricultural damages caused by floods in Hadramout. The report added that more than 1080 cattle died because of floods at a loss of over YR87 million. The floods also destroyed more than 39 bee hives worth YR397 million. In addition, the floods swept 6955 acre of agricultural lands.
