Editor Picture The United States must understand that its strategy in its war against terror has failed in every country it approached, and that spilling blood will not solve problems. The United States has not won a single war against Al-Qaeda while using the policy of killing.

Informed sources revealed that coastguard forces managed to foil an attempted hijacking by Somali pirates on two Yemeni oil tankers in Bab Al-Mandab Strait as they were heading to Hodeidah Port.

Coastguard officers told Yemen's News Agency, Saba, that coastguard forces jointly with marine forces thwarted attempts by Somali pirates to hijack two Yemeni oil tankers.

Sources mentioned that coastguard forces clashes with the Somali pirates and forced them to flee the scene.

Coastguard forces are sending regular patrols in Yemen's regional waters to defend Yemeni fishing boats, prevent illegal acts like drug trade, random fishing activities and piracy acts.

Attempted hijacking of commercial ships and vessels passing by the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Aden have been on the rise over the last few months despite the fact that superpowers have warships in these waters who keeps patrolling the area in hourly basis.

Last month, a Yemeni oil tanker escaped an attempted hijacking by Somali pirates off Al-Makha coasts by changing its route and getting back to Al-Makha seaport.

Attempting to hijack it, a group of Somali pirates attacked a Yemeni vessel last April, but they were faced by coastguard forces who clashed with them and managed to kill three pirates and arrest 12 others.

A Yemeni court in Aden started last month trying a group of Somali over piracy actions in the Gulf of Aden. The group members was arrested by international forces and handed over to Yemen. It has been the first time in which Somalis stand trail for piracy action.

In related news, Coastguard Forces positioned in the Gulf of Aden, warned citizens against swimming and going deep in Aden's and Abyan coasts, especially when wind and tides are high during the season July – September.
