Yemen's president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi returned into the southern city of Aden on Tuesday, presidency officials told TVs.
Hadi will oversee the military operation to retake the city of Taiz from the Houthi militants and forces loyal to the former president, the officials said.
Hadi came back to Aden in September after a six-months exile in Saudi Arabia. He returned to Riyadh after a short stay in Aden.
In the meanwhile, large reinforcements from the south including Arab troops and heavy equipment from the Saudi-led coalition are continuing to arrive for the offensive aimed at clearing the Houthis from Taiz, locals said.
Around 90 pro-government and Houthi fighters from both sides were killed on the first day of the offensive on Monday.
Dozens were injured and arrested.
Days ago, the government led by Vice President and Prime Minister Khalid Bahah came back to the country.
They landed in the Socotra archipelago which was lately slammed by two cyclones.
Hadi and the government fled to Riyadh after they had been ousted by the Houthi militants.
Their returns come after the national forces with support from the Saudi-led coalition drove the Houthi militants out of southern regions.
