Vice President and Prime Minister Khalid Mahfouz Bahah arrived in the southern port city of Aden on Saturday.
Transport Minister Badr Basalamah told TVs, on his visit, Bahah will evaluate the military and humanitarian situations in Aden which was retaken from the Houthi militants around two weeks ago.
A lot of aid has been sent to Aden mostly from countries participating in the months-long military operation against the Houthis but persistent challenges including conflict are preventing the authorities and agencies from delivering it to people.
"The government is now giving priority to boost security in the city. Preparations have already got underway to rehabilitate police stations and provide them with necessary equipment," Basalamah said.
Bahah was among several senior official to arrive in the city within the government which ousted by the Houthi militants early this year.
Lately, four ministers and security chiefs arrived and have been exerting major efforts to pave the way for the return of the entire government.
President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi and other officials have been living in and acting from Saudi Arabia for months.
Separately, reports revealed the government has drawn a plan to liberate all southern regions, Taiz and Marib in the north and then the capital Sanaa from the Houthis.
With support from the Saudi-led coalition, the government is seeking to retake cities from the militants as a prelude to restore power as soon as possible, maybe within two to three weeks, the reports quoted military officials as saying.
The coalition has been bombing Houthi brigades, war positions and weapon depots since March.
