A car bomb exploded at a mosque in Yemen's capital city of Sanaa on Wednesday killing three and injuring five two of whom were in critical condition, security sources told the Yemen Post.
The blast targeted the mosque of Al-Faidh Al-Hatimi in the district of Nuqum where many members of the Shiite Ismaili minority live, they said, without confirming whether the victims were Ismailis or not.
The attack was the second in days and the latest in a series of deadly bombings in Sanaa mostly targeting mosques attended by Houthi militants and residences of Houthi leaders.
IS has claimed responsibility for some of the blasts coinciding with a four-months armed conflict between the government forces and the Houthi militants.
The conflict, which followed the ouster of the Yemeni government by the Houthi militants, triggered a Saudi-led military intervention in late March.
