The Arab coalition conducted airstrikes against Houthi camps and weapon depots in Yemen's capital city of Sanaa on Thursday and Friday, the latest and heaviest within the Saudi-led military operation launched against the Houthi militants in late March.
They targeted Houthi weapon depots and camps on the Mountains of Aiban and Noqom where the coalition has been focusing the largest numbers of airstrikes since March. More raids were reported in other places inside and on the outskirts of the capital.
Houses in the Faj Attan district at the Aiban Mountain were terribly shaken and families terrorized as some airstrikes were carried out near populated areas.
In the south of the capital, the presidential palace have been targeted by several huge raids.
Houthi spokesperson could not be reached to make a comment and confirm whether civilian casualties occurred or not.
Many civilians including children have been killed in misdirected airstrikes as well as in explosions of weapons targeted by the coalition in Yemeni cities.
The fresh airstrikes coincided with persistent confrontations between the Houthi militants and pro-government forces in several cities including Aden, Dhali, Taiz and others.
Meanwhile, the humanitarian situation is continuing to aggravate due to the violence and failure to reach a ceasefire and deliver aid to around 80% of Yemen's population who have become in need of emergency aid.
Lately, the UN upgraded the humanitarian crisis to the third level in Yemen coinciding with warning of an imminent famine and spread of diseases amid lack and deterioration of services.
Part of the Arab military intervention was a blockade on all Yemeni sea, land an air routes. The blockade has been blamed for the worst shortages of supplies especially fuels, medicines and foodstuffs in decades.
