Yemen's communications corporation on Monday warned telecommunication services with the inside and the outside could be cut in days due to acute shortages of fuels.
Sadik Misleh, chairman of the corporation, told Saba agency the corporation's reserve of fuel has been used in recent weeks the fuel crisis, lowered quantities it got from the authorities and power outages continued to deepen.
"All telecommunication services including the internet will be cut in days if there is no solution," he said, while affirming, "some services have been already cut".
When there is no power, the daily consumption of diesel by the corporation and its affiliate organizations is 35.000 litres, he said.
Phone companies are also facing the same problem and that coverage services has been affected by 30%, he elaborated.
The statement coincided with a call for emergency aid to violence-stricken Yemen including a half million tons of fuels.
The call was made by the high relief committee at a press conference in Saudi capital Riyadh.
The committee said the humanitarian situation especially in conflict areas is steadily deteriorating.
Cities such as Aden, Taiz and Dhale are in dire need for emergency food, fuel and medicine aid, it added.
Yemen has been acute fuel shortages because of escalating violence and a blockade in the country's ports.
The blockade was imposed by the Saudi-led coalition as part of a military operation against the Houthi militants and dissident forces loyal to ex-president.
All imports and exports have been affected.
