The Saudi-led coalition announced on Tuesday the end of the military operation Decisive Storm against the Houthi militants and dissident forces in Yemen.
The operation came to an end after achieving its three objectives which were defending legitimacy, beating the Houthi group and preventing it from attacking Yemenis and threatening neighbours including Saudi Arabia, spokesperson for the coalition Ahmed Asiri said.
Fighter jets from the coalition carried out more than 4000 airstrikes against specified targets in Yemen, he said.
The coalition has ensured all sources of threat to Yemen's people and neighbours were destroyed including ballistic missiles and other heavy military equipment, he elaborated.
The coalition launched the decisive storm operation on March 26th in response to an appeal by transition president Abdu Rabbu I Mansour Hadi.
Hadi's appeal was made after Houthis and pro-former president forces waged all out-war following their coup on the transition government.
Meantime, the hope restoration process will replace the military operation through committing all Yemeni factions to resume talks and armed groups to abandon violence, Asiri said at the daily press brief today.
