Yemen's Transition President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi has appointed senior military officials in what appeared to be as part of the restructuring of the national forces.
Zakarya Al-Shami was picked as the new deputy chief of staffs and promoted to brigadier and Abdulbari Al-Shamiri as the general inspector of the armed forces.
Al-Shami was one of the representatives of the Houthi Militant Group to the national dialog conference which ran from March 2013 to January 2014.
Hadi started the restructuring of the armed forces around two years ago and calls continue for guaranteeing the process happens on national and scientific bases.
The appointments followed presidential decisions naming Severn governors of cities.
Separately, Yemen's Coastguard seized around 8 shipments of weapons, drugs and other illegal products as part of hundreds of security missions throughout this year that included seizing human trafficking boats, a recent statistic said on Sunday.
The statistic said the forces carried out 174 rescue and help missions, part of a total of 901 various security missions throughout the year.
