The military committee formed on Saturday a panel to recover the military equipment that were looted in Yemen during the 2011 crisis.
At a meeting chaired by defense minister, Muhammad Nasser Ahmed, the committee asked the defense and interior ministries to follow up the process of recovering all military equipment and machines that were looted from all army camps and facilities last year.
Furthermore, the committee assigned the central security organization to be replace the security protection forces to protect the capital Sanaa. The organization forces should start their new job as from Wednesday, it urged.
Last week, the Yemeni government decided to task the central security forces with protecting the Yemeni cities replacing the security protection forces that were dispatched earlier this year after the 2011 unrest.
The security protection forces were selected from the armed and security forces which divided last year because of the popular uprising with the aim to consolidate the political settlement.
The committee discussed its agenda and decided to evacuate the remaining fighters from their positions in the districts of Al-Hasaba and Sufan in the capital Sanaa where pro-former regime forces and tribesmen fought fierce battles last year.
The remaining fighters in these areas should leave their positions as from Sunday and the deadline will be Wednesday.
The meeting also dealt with the reports prepared by the technical teams in charge with formulating visions to restructure the defense and interior ministries according to the terms of the power-transfer deal that was reached in November after the turmoil.
