Yemen is gearing up for the vacation emergency cases as Eid Al-Fitr is approaching with exceptional plans prepared, especially to provide emergency medical services at long roads.
The official Saba agency quoted health minister, Ahmed Qasim Al-Ansi, as saying an aid, emergency exceptional plan has been set out on the roads linking the Yemeni provinces and at the entries of main cities ahead of the Eid vacation.
“Emergency clinics will be set up to treat those who may be hurt in road accidents on long roads in the country”.
“Furthermore, all hospitals and clinics have been placed on high alert and ambulances have been ordered to be stationed on key roads around the clock,” he said, according to Saba.
The operations room at the health ministry will receive any reports to provide necessary equipment and take necessary measures toward accidents during the vacation, he said, urging the people to notify the authorities about any negligence or deliberate shortfalls by the authorities.
Yemen has one of the highest rates of road accident mortality and road accidents usually increase during the year and Eid vacations.
