The death of four Korean tourists on the hands of Al-Qaeda has opened the doors for Al-Qaeda to attack any interests of Yemen, and not like the past when it used to attack western interests only.
Why would South Koreans be targets in Yemen by Al-Qaeda? Is it because it is a ally of the west, or because they are easier than British and American targets. South Koreans are known to be one of the most peaceful people on earth, but last week’s dual attack on Koreans in Yemen only proves that Al-Qaeda is not as strong as it seems, and is looking to attack easy targets hoping to gain more attention from the government by attacking the unguarded and unsecured of foreigners.
Anyone could have done what Al-Qaeda did to the Koreans in Shibam, Yemen. It doesn’t need a lot of brains to know how to bomb yourself in front of innocent people who are unguarded and unarmed. Has Al-Qaeda’s tactics gotten so low that it is now resorting to kill just about anyone they see?
The attack on the Korean delegation shows even more weakness as the killer threw himself at passing cars, which proved to be the most unprepared Al-Qaeda attack in recent history. Not even the cars of the delegation were damaged.
Al-Qaeda only showed during the attacks that it is desperately trying to get as much attention as possible during what we project is the weakest point Al-Qaeda has reached in more than two decades.
