Hour-long blackouts started in Yemen's capital Sana'a and other cities after the first electrical circuit came under attack in Marib province on Thursday.
Sources at the Electricity and Energy Ministry said the heavy fire sent Marib power station out of service and disconnected it from the national grid.
And now programmed outages are taking place due to a 400 megawatts power deficit per hour, the sources said.
However, the ministry is seeking to send experts to repair the damages, a day after the third electrical circuit came under heavy fire in the province, they added.
In the last few months, just as the unrest escalated, Marib Gas-Fired Station has been attacked, plunging the country into hour-long darkness many times.
