Parliament ejected on Wednesday head of the General Investment Authority Salah Al-Attar in protest at acting impolitely at the council. It also refused to continue discussing the draft investment law submitted by Al-Attar after MPs insisted he should be out.
Appearing in Parliament within the Cabinet on Monday, Al-Attar, according to some MPs, belittled Parliament and refused to apologize to it. He was reported as saying impolite words during an argument with an MP over the draft investment law.
However, Al-Attar affirmed he did not abuse the council, justifying what he said was a reaction after he was abused by an MP.
On Monday, Parliament suspended its sitting in protest at Al-Attar's impolite words. Ten minutes after the decision, Parliament Speaker Yahya Al-Ra'e said Al-Attar had confessed to his mistake after the speaker met with him and MP Ali Al-Mamari.
