Tehran launched the name of former deceased Houthi leader, Hussain Bader Eddin Al-Houthi, on one of Tehrans main streets.
Iran’s bilateral ties with Yemen and KSA have been widely affected by the current actions happening in the Yemeni arena. Yemen and Saudi Arabia accuse Iran of supporting Houthis.
Earlier, the Iranian Parliament urged Iranian authorities to reconsider its relations with both Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
In response to that, residents of Iran Street, which was inaugurated by the former Iranian President, Khatami, in the center of the Yemeni capital protested, demanding the local authorities to change Iran Street into the name of “Nada Sultan’’, who was killed in the recent events in Tehran during the presidential elections in Iran, said eyewitnesses.
After internal pressure, the Yemeni government changed the name of Iran Street.
